Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohd Hafiz Mohd Hanafiah, CHIA | Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management
Dr Mohd Hafiz Mohd Hanafiah received his PhD in Hotel and Tourism Management from Universiti Teknologi MARA. During his graduation, he received the Graduate on Time (GoT) award as well as the Research Excellence award, making him the first Faculty member to receive such recognition. He is also a Certified Hotel Industry Analytics and a member of the Islamic Tourism Center of Malaysia's Board of Trustees.
Dr Hafiz's fellow students and peers quickly recognised him as an excellent tourism researcher. He has supervised both international and domestic postgraduate students. His research interests are in tourism economics and competitiveness. He is the corresponding author of numerous research articles that have been highly indexed and cited. In addition, he edited six books/proceedings, two of which were indexed by Scopus and the Web of Science. His Google Scholar curriculum vitae includes over 100 peer-reviewed papers and articles, over 800 citations, and an h-index of 14. With a Scopus H-index of 6, he was one of the active Social Science UiTM authors for Scopus/WoS indexed journal articles.
Dr Hafiz has received numerous awards for his research and publication work. In addition to receiving various research grants and consulting projects, he has received the Best Paper Award at several international conferences. He received the UiTM Excellence Award for his involvement in the QS World University Rankings 2020, which placed his faculty 31st in the world (by Subjects). As an educator and active management personnel, he is looking forward to new challenges and personal and professional growth opportunities.(Scopus H-Index citations: 6 and 95)
